£25,000 5-y-o, Flemensfirth gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler (2m-2¼m winner) Blue Shark. Runner-up completed start in Irish points (Oct 1) and he's a most interesting bumper debutant for good yard.

€10,000 3-y-o, £50,000 5-y-o, Sholokhov gelding. Closely related to fairly useful hurdler/chaser Top Cat Henry. Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful staying hurdler Latchford. Had wind op and he's an interesting debutant (yard 4-6 in this sphere this term).

Maiden Irish pointer who showed ability and caught the eye with his finishing effort when fourth in a 10-runner Newcastle bumper (16.2f) 5 weeks ago, staying on well. Very much the type to improve.

Sister to a couple of bumper winners and solid start when third at Newton Abbot (16.7f) in May. Likely to have gone close but for running out at Stratford (2m) a month later and that best put down to greenness for now. One to consider.

Dartmouth gelding. Dam (h110) 2¾m hurdle winner, also 11.6f winner on Flat. Easy to back, showed a bit amidst greenness when fifth in 6-runner Ayr bumper (2m) in November and he's entitled to come on for that.

Forecasts

Ballygeary (5/2), Shady Daisy (5/2), Raffles Wonder (7/2), Bells Express (11/2), Darjink (12/1), Brawby (18/1), Sneaky Pete (25/1)

Verdict

Having shown promise on debut in a Newton Abbot bumper back in May, SHADY DAISY was still well in contention before running out at Stratford a month later. Hopefully she's more street-wise back from a break and is selected to come out on top. Ballygeary, an interesting point recruit for Donald McCain, is also one to consider, along with Bells Express and Raffles Wonder.
