British Racing School 40th Anniversary 'National Hunt' Maiden Hurdle (GBB Race)

Limited impact in a bumper/novice hurdle.

Showed a bit in a Chepstow bumper on November debut but well held sent hurdling at Hereford.

€20,000 3-y-o, Califet gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler/smart chaser (stayed 3¾m) Fletchers Flyer. Third sole start in points but no impact under Rules.

Point winner who was sent off favourite for both of his starts in bumpers last winter, finishing runner-up on both occasions. Not at that level both starts over hurdles at up to 20.5f but drop in trip could be a good move and this isn't a strong race.

€40,000 3-y-o, 60,000 gns 4-y-o, Kitkou gelding. Half-brother to fair chaser Guguss Collonges. Placed both starts in points in May and positively ridden when landing a bumper at Hereford in November. This looks a good opening switched to hurdling.

Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/smart chaser (stayed 3½m) Royal Vacation out of 2m hurdle winner Summer Break, also 9f-1¼m winner on Flat. Stuck to his task when third of 7 in a Chepstow bumper in April. Had a wind op after and pulled up on hurdles debut 7 months later.

€42,000 3-y-o, Mahler gelding. Dam 2½m-3m chase winner. In need of the experience starting out at Ffos Las in November. Capable of better.

€8,500 Zambezi Sun half-brother to 4 winners, including fairly useful hurdler Classical Art. Big price and merely hinted at ability on debut over C&D in November.

Third in a point but little to get excited about under Rules so far.

Telescope mare was placed sole start between the flags but was never a factor on hurdles debut here last week (18.5f).
