Fair maiden hurdler/chaser in Ireland for Henry de Bromhead. Best effort for current stable when second in a Fontwell handicap chase on Boxing Day, although he didn't find much. Merits respect in first-time cheekpieces.

Hurdles winner who lost his way in that discipline and shaped as if in need of his initial experience over fences when pulled up in a handicap at Kempton a couple of months ago. Others make more appeal.

Fairly useful hurdle winner in France. Below that level in that sphere for current yard, including on chasing debut at Ludlow last time. Others preferred.

Didn't go on from a promising start over hurdles in Ireland last autumn and no promise as yet for current stable, including over fences.

Forecasts

Prime Pretender (6/4), Grizzly James (10/3), Sherborne (13/2), Clondaw Bertie (13/2), Billingsley (7/1), Valirann Gold (12/1)

Verdict

PRIME PRETENDER has found one too good on each of his three chase outings to date and, in a thin race, he looks quite a straightforward choice to open his account now. Billingsley also arrives in good form and he's feared most, while Clondaw Bertie isn't taken lightly having made a positive step last time.

  1. Prime Pretender6/4
  2. Billingsley7/1
  3. Clondaw Bertie13/2
