Carcaci Castle^t²⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: Ryan Mania| T: A M Thomson| CD

7/4

Bumper winner at the second attempt who made light of a 16-month absence to make a successful hurdling debut for new connections in 10-runner C&D maiden 25 days ago, always holding on. Should continue to progress if all remains well.

Form: 461-1

Fortescue Wood^h,t⁵⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 11-7| J: Bruce Lynn⁽³⁾| T: N W Alexander| D

11/4

Bumper winner who made a successful debut over hurdles in a first-time hood and tongue strap after 20 months off in 7-runner novice at Ayr (16f, soft, 4/1) 50 days ago, pushed out. Respected under a penalty.

Form: 314/1

Cowboy Cooper⁴³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: Craig Nichol| T: D W Whillans

33/1

Has made little impact in a brace of bumpers/novice hurdles.

Form: 76-56

Gie It Laldy⁵⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Callum Bewley| T: D W Whillans

80/1

Has shown just modest form in bumpers so a sizeable step forward needed now hurdling.

Form: 56-5

Traprain Law^t²⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 11-0| J: P W Wadge⁽⁷⁾| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell| OR: 114| CD

11/10

Bounced back to his best when making all in 8-runner handicap hurdle over C&D (soft) 25 days ago, keeping on well. Escapes a penalty for that success and his claims are crystal clear.

Form: 33P-241

Izzy Bell²⁷⁶

Age: 4| Weight: 10-7| J: S Mulqueen| T: M A Barnes

200/1

No promise in a trio of bumpers last season so easily passed over.

Form: 098-

Pipers Cross²¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 10-7| J: Thomas Willmott⁽³⁾| T: Miss S E Forster| CD

50/1

Landed a weak C&D bumper in early May and improvement needed now hurdling on return.

Form: 76-16

Syltezar³¹⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 10-7| J: Danny McMenamin| T: Ewan Whillans

50/1

Just poor form in a brace of bumpers so looks up against it on this switch to hurdling after 10 months off.

Form: 55-

Forecasts

Traprain Law (11/10), Carcaci Castle (7/4), Fortescue Wood (11/4), Breizh River (25/1), Cowboy Cooper (33/1), Pipers Cross (50/1), Syltezar (50/1), Gie It Laldy (80/1), Izzy Bell (200/1)

TRAPRAIN LAW bounced back to his best when making all in a C&D handicap 25 days ago and has obvious claims of following up back in novice company given he escapes a penalty for that success. Carcaci Castle and Fortescue Wood look the obvious threats.
