Promising sort. Sixth of 12 in minor event (12/1) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 24 days ago, not clear run. Open to improvement for top yard (also represented by newcomer Rebecca West) and she's high on the shortlist.

Twice-raced maiden. 250/1, seventh of 13 in minor event at this C&D 14 days ago. Probably more one for handicaps further down the line.

Foaled April 6. Havana Grey filly. Dam unraced out of useful 1m winner Oh Star, herself daughter of 1000 Guineas winner Sleepytime. Of obvious interest on debut. Worth a second look in the betting.

Twice-raced maiden. Third of 12 in minor event (14/1) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 24 days ago. Probably wouldn't need to improve much on that effort to get in the shake-up here.

Foaled March 21. 32,000 gns foal, £65,000 yearling, Night of Thunder filly. Half-sister to 6f-1m winner El Camino. Dam unraced from a very good family. Appealing type on paper and market check essential.

Foaled February 8. 10,000 gns yearling, Iffraaj filly. Dam 7f/1m winner. Ceanna appears to be the stable first-string but this filly is worth a second look in the betting nonetheless.

Foaled March 17. 14,000 gns yearling, Ulysses filly. Dam, 7f winner who stayed 1½m, half-sister to useful 1m-1¾m winner (stayes 16.5f) Eagle Court out of useful 1¼m winner Classic Remark. She will likely come on for the run.

Twice-raced maiden. Sixth of 9 in minor event (150/1) at Newcastle (6f) 18 days ago. Like stablemate Champagny, her future probably lies in handicaps.

Foaled May 2. Farhh filly. Closely related to 1m/8.3f winner Harmonica and half-sister to 3 winners, including useful winner up to 1¼m Zest and 1½m winner Amalfi Bay. Interesting to see which way she goes in the betting.

Forecasts

Ceanna (13/8), Too Much (10/3), Impulsive Lady (7/2), Evenstar (9/1), Rebecca West (10/1), Jolie En Rose (10/1), Molly Mischief (18/1), Lilla Cross (20/1), Tiffany (20/1), Rejoycefilly (28/1), Champagny (80/1), Territorial Waters (80/1), Quiet Smile (150/1), Clementyne (200/1)

Verdict

CEANNA finished a few places adrift of Impulsive Lady when sixth in a Wolverhampton novice last month but it would be something of an understatement to say that she didn't get the rub of the green that day. Granted better luck in running here and with improvement likely, she is taken to reverse those placings with James Tate's charge and emerge on top. Too Much shaped well on her recent C&D debut and is third choice ahead of newcomers Lilla Cross and Rebecca West (stablemate of Ceanna).
