Tanners Champagne Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Started 2022 with a pair of victories (both 16f) at Hereford over fences but not seen since disappointing at Newton Abbot in June and has bit to prove.

Smart handicap chaser at best but proved unreliable for Joseph O'Brien . Failed to complete all 3 starts for this yard and remains opposable.

On a potentially lenient mark but has been pulled up both starts this season (lost action at Doncaster on latest).

Useful hurdler who landed an Exeter novice (19.2f) on chase debut in February and similar form in defeat thereafter, 15 lengths third in Grade 1 at Aintree final outing. Better for return when second at Newbury 2 weeks ago and not taken lightly back down in trip.

Smart hurdler/chaser at his best who shaped encouragingly after 5 months off when second on the Flat at Ascot in September and not disgraced back over fences when fourth to Thyme White in handicap chase there (16.8f, good) following month. Tongue strap back on.

Positively ridden and jumped well in main when adding to his tally at Newbury in March but hasn't fired so far this season, only third of 6 back at that track last time.

Veteran who didn't seem quite right when pulled up at Aintree on his final outing last term and failed to feature on his return at Newbury 24 days ago. May strip fitter for that, however.

Opened his account for the season in weak 4-runner handicap chase at Worcester (2m) in August. Failed to cash in on a lower hurdles mark a month later and was pulled up at Kempton last time.

Left with a simple task when landing 3-runner handicap chase at this C&D (heavy, 9/4) 29 days ago. This is clearly a much stronger contest but he's well treated.
