Red Lion Ladp25
Age: 6|  Weight: 12-0| J: T Scudamore| T: D Pipe| OR:  100| D
Successful sole start between the flags but he's 0-8 under Rules and again offered little in this sphere when well held on return over this C&D last month. Cheekpieces now refitted (blinkered the last twice).

Age: 10|  Weight: 12-0| J: M Goldstein| T: K Jewell| OR:  100| D
Runner-up 4 times last season off higher marks than this but losing run stretches back to October 2019 and his reappearance display over C&D was hardly inspiring.

Furkashp32
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-12| J: Brendan Powell| T: J Tizzard| OR:  98
Fontwell novice hurdle winner in November 2020 but has subsequently failed to match that level of form and will need to brush up on his jumping in order to make his mark in this sphere.

The Lion Dancerb252
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-11| J: Kielan Woods| T: A M Hales| OR:  97| D
Four-time winner over fences for Charlie Mann and placed on a couple of occasions for this yard last season. However, latest effort at Hexham in April was poor and his overall profile is far from convincing.

Tazkab34
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-9| J: J E Moore| T: G & J Moore| OR:  95
Sole win over fences was registered at Fontwell over 2 years ago but she hit the crossbar twice during the summer and reappearance effort here last month can be overlooked. Each-way claims.

Kings Krackertara334
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-9| J: James Davies| T: N J Gifford| OR:  95
Showed ability in sole bumper outing and on debut over timber at Leicester this time last year. Rather went backwards thereafter, however, and plenty to prove sent chasing on return from 11-month absence.

Mr Washingtonp,t35
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-8| J: Charlie Deutsch| T: David Dennis| OR:  94| D
Prolific over hurdles in 2020/21 and also won on his reappearance last season. Yet to convince over fences but wasn't disgraced when third in a 4-runner Pumpton handicap chase last time and he's slipped to an attractive mark.

Coronado Joe34
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-8| J: Tom Cannon| T: C Gordon| OR:  94
Accounted for 14 rivals when opening hurdles account at Fontwell in February. Didn't get very far on chase debut over C&D last month, though, and was then beaten a fair way back over hurdles a week later.

Patient Owner29
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-6| J: T J O'Brien| T: Henry Oliver| OR:  92
Modest form over hurdles last season and failed by a long chalk to reward his supporters (well backed) on return at Uttoxeter. Needs to raise his game now switched to fences.

The Toojumpa31
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-2| J: Liam Harrison(3)| T: F O'Brien| OR:  88| D
Heavily backed when making a winning stable/seasonal debut at Worcester last October but that's her sole success from 21 starts over fences. Reappearance effort at Chepstow was low-key and it's probably best to look elsewhere.

Age: 10|  Weight: 11-2| J: N F Houlihan(3)| T: R Rowe| OR:  88| C
Now 6 lb lower than for his latest success at Leicester in January but with good reason (pulled up on 3 of his 4 subsequent starts) and now has plenty to prove.

On The Bandwagon18
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-12| J: Jamie Brace(7)| T: J & A O'Neill| OR:  84
Not the easiest of rides and while he produced one of his better efforts when second in a 4-runner Leicester handicap recently, he was ultimately again let down by his application. Likely to find one or two too good.

Melk Abbeyt14
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-6| J: Rex Dingle| T: A J Honeyball| OR:  78| D
Little impact over hurdles but this point winner was in the process of running a big race when unseating rider after the third-last on chase debut following a wind op/in a first-time tongue strap over C&D this month. Leading claims.

Forecasts

Melk Abbey (4/1), Mr Washington (9/2), On The Bandwagon (5/1), Furkash (7/1), The Toojumpa (8/1), Tazka (10/1), Patient Owner (12/1), Coronado Joe (12/1), Red Lion Lad (12/1), The Lion Dancer (16/1), Kings Krackertara (20/1), Celma Des Bois (25/1), Uallrightharry (50/1)

Verdict

MELK ABBEY was still in front when unseating Rex Dingle at the business end on her C&D chase debut and, granted a clear round this time, she may well be the answer. It's probably best to draw a line through Tazka's reappearance effort and she is next on the list ahead of Mr Washington, who will be a big threat off this reduced mark if finally reproducing something akin to his peak hurdles form in this sphere.
