Kelso Handicap Chase

Smart hurdler who opened chase account with cheekpieces refitted at Wetherby in January. Twice beaten in small field since and essentially isn't quite as good over fences as hurdles. Been off 8 months.

Useful over hurdles and quickly made up into an even better chaser last season, scoring at Newcastle before good seconds at Wetherby and Musselburgh. Excuses last 2 starts (shaped as if needing return) and remains of interest.

Looked well suited by a positive ride back down in trip when resuming winning ways at Perth final start last season. Yet to win off a mark this high, though, and needed reappearance last term.

Back to form with a bang when landing listed handicap at Ayr (2m, good) in April. Not in the same form since, however, running poorly next 4 starts. 6 lb below winning mark now at least back from a break.

Three-time hurdles winner who bagged trio of small-field handicap chase events last season, latterly at Ayr in April. Shaped as if better for the run after 7 months off at that venue in October and yard is in good form.

Won twice last season and he put in a decent shift when third at Ayr (16.5f, soft) on return 36 days ago, clear of rest. Goes well here and shortlist material.
