Useful bumper performer, placed first 3 starts for Sam Curling before making successful stable debut at Southwell in January. Again ran well when third in listed event at Newbury the following month. Major player on hurdles bow.

Looked more of a longer-term prospect in a bumper and novice hurdle last season. After 6 months off, again showed little when eighth of 10 in maiden hurdle at Bangor 16 days ago.

Well beaten in a pair of bumpers and made a discouraging start in this sphere when eighth of 10 in novice hurdle at Warwick 24 days ago.

Strong in the betting for his debut but was tailed off in a Bangor bumper in December. Bigger odds next time and offered little when always behind in maiden at this C&D 8 months ago.

Hinted at ability when finishing mid-division in a Southwell bumper first time up, but soon done with at Stratford 10 weeks later. Major improvement needed going over hurdles.

Having placed in a point, made encouraging Rules debut when third in bumper at Fairyhouse in February last year. Has left Stuart Crawford and makes hurdles debut with hood on 1st time. Could go well despite his absence.

Looked good prospect when making a winning debut in Kelso bumper last May and doubled his tally (on third outing) at Doncaster in January. Stiff task when mid-field in Grade 2 event at Aintree last time. Respected on hurdles bow.

Signs of ability in bumper/novice hurdle, offering something to work on when fifth of 11 at Huntingdon (15.8f, heavy) on his first start over timber in March. Will be of more interest in handicaps at longer trips.

Successful sole start in Irish points. However, failed to meet expectations when fifth of 8 in novice hurdle (2/1) at Newton Abbot (16.8f, good to soft) on hurdling bow last month. Bred to need further down the line.

Forecasts

Ballyglass (10/11), Prairie Wolf (13/8), The Scorpion King (5/1), Alnitak (8/1), Pomerol George (10/1), Getaway Tom (10/1), Inflagrante (33/1), Ya Know Yaseff (33/1), Phil The Sock (50/1), Bluebella (50/1), Howyouplaythegame (66/1), Horse Power (80/1), Bertie's Bandana (100/1), Kalabana (100/1)

Verdict

BALLYGLASS has made up into a useful bumper performer since joining Toby Lawes, making a successful stable debut before finishing a good third in a listed contest at Newbury. He can continue his improvement to make a winning start over hurdles, with dual bumper winner Prairie Wolf feared most ahead of Alnitak.
