Off time: 14:35 | Winning time: 5m 2.43s

Mascat^p,t¹⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 12-0| J: Thomas Doggrell⁽⁷⁾| T: J Tizzard| OR: 118| BF

9/2

Fairly useful on Flat and bagged second hurdles success at Newton Abbot (16.7f) in June. Couldn't justify support on novice chase debut back there 15 days ago, outpaced from 3 out. This should reveal more.

Form: 138-123

Huelgoat^t²⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Harry Cobden| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 106

13/8

French bumper winner who failed to better modest form over hurdles but took a step forward for switch to chasing when off the mark in a novices' handicap at Newton Abbot (21f) 26 days ago, easily. Of firm interest again.

Form: 760-221

Stanley Pincombe¹⁶¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: G Sheehan| T: C Gordon| OR: 104

4/1

Dispelled a lesser effort over hurdles when narrowly coming out on top at Warwick (2m) in March. Bad mistake halted momentum at Chepstow later that month and below best up in class at Sandown final start. Market best guide on return/chase bow.

Form: 343100-

Long Call²⁸

Age: 9| Weight: 10-12| J: J E Moore| T: A W Carroll| OR: 102

12/1

Snapped a long losing run when running out a wide-margin winner of a Bangor handicap hurdle (16.6f) in July. Not disgraced from revised mark at Stratford (16.3f) latest but a little more needed having first start over fences since 2018.

Form: 065174

Wetanwindy¹²⁵

Age: 7| Weight: 10-11| J: Mitchell Bastyan| T: M F Harris| OR: 101| BF

11/4

Hurdles winner who matched pick of form in that sphere when runner-up in a novices' handicap chase over extended 21f here in May. Absent since but a repeat should see him thereabouts.

Form: 1223-22

Forecasts

Huelgoat (13/8), Wetanwindy (11/4), Stanley Pincombe (4/1), Mascat (9/2), Long Call (12/1)

HUELGOAT showed improved form for the switch to chasing when getting off the mark in comfortable fashion at Newton Abbot 26 days ago and, with further progress distinctly possible, he gets the nod to follow up. Wetanwindy, who matched the pick of his hurdles form when runner-up over further here in May is feared most, whilst it will be interesting to see what the market makes of chase debutant Stanley Pincombe.
