Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: L Dettori| T: J & T Gosden| OR: 93| D

9/2

Scored with a bit in hand at Chelmsford in June and has remained in form since, albeit put in his place readily enough when the tempo lifted here 3 weeks ago. Back down to 7f for the first time this year and he's not discounted.

Space Tracker⁵³

Age: 3| Weight: 9-8| J: P Cosgrave| T: R Hughes| OR: 92| D

7/2

Scored on debut at Lingfield in April and he improved when following up in a Windsor novice in June, that despite hanging left. Failed to improve when runner-up on his first start in handicaps at Ffos Las a couple of months ago (carried head awkwardly) but it remains very early days.

Wowzers³⁵

4/1

Won 5f Bath minor event on final start at 2 yrs and better for return when second at Nottingham (6f) last month. Similar form with the hood left off when runner-up at this track 5 weeks ago and this step up to 7f looks sure to suit. Merits consideration.

Form: 641-622

Artaois²⁷

Age: 3| Weight: 8-10| J: P J McDonald| T: S & E Crisford| OR: 80

13/2

Fairly useful performer who scored at Chester on his second start at 2. Yet to hit those heights this term though and while the handicapper has given him a chance, others look stronger.

Form: 617-330

Chola Empire^h1³⁰²

Age: 3| Weight: 8-9| J: Hayley Turner| T: D M Simcock| OR: 79| D

8/1

Got up late in the piece at Chelmsford (7f) on debut last October and matched that form when third at Kempton 3 weeks later, ideally needing a stronger pace. Not seen since (gelded in interim) and a hood is applied for this handicap debut/return.

Roach Power²⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 8-8| J: Hollie Doyle| T: T D Easterby| OR: 78

10/3

Didn't need to improve to get off the mark following an 8-week break in a Ripon novice down at 5f for the first time earlier this month, leading over 1f out. This just his second try at 7f and he may well kick on now he's up and running.

Form: 42-2301

Forecasts

Roach Power (10/3), Space Tracker (7/2), Wowzers (4/1), Spinaround (9/2), Artaois (13/2), Chola Empire (8/1)

A tricky contest to unravel despite the small field but preference is for ROACH POWER. Tim Easterby's charge opened his account dropped to 5f for the first time at Ripon earlier this month and, back up to 7f for just the second time in his career, he's fancied to follow up back in handicap company. Wowzers should be suited by this step up in trip so he heads the dangers, with Spinaround completing the shortlist.
