Bred to be a useful jumper and landed the odds at the third attempt in bumpers at Perth in April. This looks an excellent starting point over hurdles.

Doubled his tally in bumpers at Ludlow in January, displaying a good attitude. Limitations exposed in listed company the following month but in very capable hands now hurdling.

Half-brother to The Plough (jumps winner in Italy, by Sea The Stars). Useful handicapper on Flat, stays 1¾m, below form last time, sold from Mark Johnston 40,000 gns. Could be a good hurdles recruit.

Forecasts

Imperial Storm (10/11), Tchoupinminzac (10/3), The Trader (4/1), Kanukankan (7/1)

Verdict

An interesting race despite the field size with bumper-winners IMPERIAL STORM and Tchoupinminzac taking on a useful Flat recruit in The Trader and headstrong-hurdler Kanukankan. The first-named runner is bred to excel over hurdles so he receives the vote.

  1. Imperial Storm10/11

  3. The Trader4/1
