Keen sort who made winning return at Newmarket (7f) in May and shaped well back sprinting in a first-time tongue strap when fourth at Pontefract (6f) last week, despite being slowly away. On an exploitable mark if he can put it all together.
Knew a lot more with his reappearance under his belt (also gelded) to score in first-time cheekpieces at Lingfield in May, having any amount in hand. Followed up in 9-runner event on his Haydock handicap debut (7f) and appeals as the type to go on improving back from a 2-month break.
Resumed progress with a win on his first try at 5f at Salisbury in May, finding plenty to get up late on. Didn't need to improve to follow up in 4-runner event at Bath (5.7f) since and ought to remain competitive following a 2 lb rise.
Solid cases can be made for all 4 runners, but the narrow vote goes to ELSALS, who appeals as the type to go on improving following his wins earlier in the summer. Haymaker shaped well back sprinting at Pontefract last week and is second choice.
