Angel Amadea⁴⁹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-10| J: W Buick| T: C F Wall| OR: 66

11/4

5/1, fourth of 7 in handicap at Newbury (7f, good to firm) 49 days ago, doing too much too soon. Down another 2 lb and it's not hard to envisage her playing a part in the finish.

Form: 248-644

(8)

Healing Power¹⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 9-10| J: Elle-May Croot⁽⁷⁾| T: I Furtado| OR: 66| CD

11/4

11/1, improved on recent efforts to win 14-runner handicap at this C&D (AW) 17 days ago by 2½ lengths from Catch My Breath, unchallenged. May well be capable of following up off this 6 lb higher mark.

Form: 99-8431

(3)

Dragon's Fire¹⁹⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: Callum Shepherd| T: A M Hales| OR: 65| D

33/1

Sixth of 7 in juvenile hurdle (150/1) at Warwick (16f, good to soft) when last seen 6 months ago. Fair performer in this sphere, albeit he was below par on latest Flat start in November.

Form: 166749-

(2)

Blame Culture^h¹⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 9-8| J: Christian Howarth⁽⁵⁾| T: G G Margarson| OR: 64| D

18/1

Two wins from 41 Flat runs. Twenty-seven runs since last win in 2019. Hooded for 1st time, fifth of 8 in handicap (12/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 16 days ago. Likely to come up short once more.

Form: 28504-5

(10)

Silver Dollar⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 9-8| J: Andrea Atzeni| T: R Eddery| OR: 64

8/1

Latest win at Kempton in April. Below form sixth of 11 in handicap at Kempton (6f, 9/2) 7 days ago. Now 1 lb below last winning mark, but needs to prove he stays this trip (well held sole previous attempt at 7f).

Form: 115956

(5)

Inclement Weather^t1⁴⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 9-5| J: Rob Hornby| T: A M Hales| OR: 61| BF| D

11/1

Winner at Kempton in April. 3/1, respectable fourth of 12 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 48 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time and she's likely to be in the shake-up.

Form: 5-25164

(1)

Sir Sedric^t¹⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 9-4| J: Joshua Bryan| T: L Carter| OR: 60| D

16/1

22/1, bit below form 6¼ lengths sixth of 14 to Healing Power in handicap at this C&D (AW) 17 days ago. 8 lb better off with that rival now, but strike rate is modest (1-20) and he basically looks vulnerable.

Form: 694396

(4)

Cappananty Con^p¹⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 9-3| J: Rhys Clutterbuck⁽³⁾| T: M J Attwater| OR: 59| C

16/1

Course winner. Twenty four-runs since last win in 2021. Respectable 5 lengths fourth of 14 to Healing Power in handicap at this C&D (AW, 18/1) 17 days ago. Enjoys a 7 lb pull with the winner and he's not without each-way hope.

Form: 264244

(6)

Catch My Breath^b¹⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 9-2| J: S W Kelly| T: J Ryan| OR: 58| C

7/1

Unreliable type. Course winner. 15/2 and blinkered for 1st time, good 2½ lengths second of 14 to Healing Power in handicap at this C&D (AW) 17 days ago, barely adequate test. All seven wins gained over 1m+.

Forecasts

Angel Amadea (11/4), Healing Power (11/4), Afta Party (7/1), Catch My Breath (7/1), Silver Dollar (8/1), Inclement Weather (11/1), Sir Sedric (16/1), Cappananty Con (16/1), Blame Culture (18/1), Dragon's Fire (33/1)

HEALING POWER admittedly got first run when outpointing Catch My Breath and 12 others over C&D recently, but that shouldn't detract from what was ultimately a decisive success and he remains feasibly treated following a 6 lb rise. Cappananty Con and Sir Sedric also contested that handicap and the former, who wasn't beaten far in fourth, makes some each-way appeal. However, bigger threats may be posed by Angel Amadea and Inclement Weather.
