Red Verdon^p²⁵

Age: 9| Weight: 10-1| J: A Fresu| T: E A L Dunlop| OR: 98| D

18/1

Admirable sort who wasn't disgraced when second of 5 in 2m handicap at Beverley 25 days ago. Cheekpieces again replace blinkers. Not dismissed.

Form: 548002

(3)

Island Brave⁴²

Age: 8| Weight: 9-12| J: Jose-Luis Martinez| T: H Main| OR: 95| CD

16/1

C&D winner but he's yet to make the frame in 2022, respectable eighth of 20 in Newcastle Plate Handicap 42 days ago. Bit more is needed here despite a falling mark.

Form: 857008

(9)

Throne Hall^p⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 9-12| J: Emma Jayne Wilson| T: A Watson| OR: 95

11/1

Useful sort but it's now thirteen runs since his last win in 2021. Creditable second of 5 in handicap at Salisbury (14.2f) 9 days ago though so he enters calculations.

Form: 902232

(6)

Going Gone²¹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-12| J: Rene Piechulek| T: J R Boyle| OR: 95| BF

9/1

Resumed with 12f win at Epsom (12f) and posted excellent fourth in the Ascot Stakes (20f) in June. Came in last of 6 in 2m handicap at Newbury 21 days ago however so he needs to get back on track.

Form: 61-1346

(5)

Themaxwecan^p⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 9-9| J: J P Spencer| T: C & M Johnston| OR: 92| CD

9/1

Landed 2m Godwood handicap last September. Only one creditable effort to show for his 5 outings this season, visored when eleventh over 14f there 7 days ago. Cheekpieces back on now and he's no forlorn hope off an easing mark.

Form: 0-04000

(4)

Make My Day^p⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 9-8| J: D Tudhope| T: G & J Moore| OR: 91

13/2

Runner-up on his first two starts over 2m this term, including over C&D, but well held over 2m4f on both runs since. Back down in trip now and he shouldn't be dismissed.

Form: 61/2200

(8)

Golden Flame⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 9-8| J: Jason Collett| T: C & M Johnston| OR: 91

16/1

Good front-running second at Haydock (2m) in May but well below that level in 4 outings since, beating only one in 14f handicap at Goodwood 7 days ago. Has work to do.

Form: 720060

(7)

Moliwood^b³¹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-5| J: K Shoemark| T: Dylan Cunha| OR: 88| BF| D

40/1

Consistent AW performer who landed 2m Kempton handicap in January. Well below his best on only turf run this term though and he starts out for a new yard here having left Marco Botti for 42 000gns. Lots more is needed.

Form: 4-14766

(11)

Super Superjack⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 9-3| J: Nicola Currie| T: M F Harris| OR: 86| BF| CD

15/8

Has taken his form up another notch this year, winning twice over 2m in the spring (second one here) and excellent second in 20f Goodwood handicap 8 days ago when conceding first run to the winner. Big player.

Form: 2-11232

Forecasts

Super Superjack (15/8), Rock Eagle (4/1), Red Force One (9/2), Make My Day (13/2), Themaxwecan (9/1), Going Gone (9/1), Throne Hall (11/1), Golden Flame (16/1), Island Brave (16/1), Mukha Magic (16/1), Red Verdon (18/1), Moliwood (40/1)

SUPER SUPERJACK's form is on an upward curve so this C&D winner is fancied to bag a third success of the season after his excellent recent second at Glorious Goodwood and provide Nicola Currie with a winner. To- weight Rock Eagle is a consistent sort and seems sure to have a say on the back of his good Newbury second, with Throne Hall and Red Verdon not discounted either.
