Lightly-raced maiden. Ninth of 14 in handicap (20/1) at Haydock (14f, good) 21 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. Makes polytrack debut and looks vulnerable up against several potential improvers.

Course winner. Third of 8 in minor event (9/4) at Leicester (11.8f, good to soft) 51 days ago, running on. Mark for this handicap debut looks fair and there should be better to come.

Promising sort. Won 2-runner minor event (1/7) at this C&D (AW) when last seen in February. This well-bred colt looks sure to improve now that he ventures down the handicap route.

Lightly-raced maiden. 5/2, respectable second of 7 in handicap at Carlisle (11.2f, good to firm) 16 days ago. In good hands and, with further progress on the cards, she has to be taken seriously.

Forecasts

Mhajim (10/11), Neandra (10/3), The Gadget Man (15/2), Cappoquin (9/1), Dream Harder (11/1), Mashkuur (18/1)

Verdict

An intriguing handicap, despite the small field. MHAJIM only had one rival to beat when opening his account over C&D in February, but he's probably capable of a good deal better than he's shown to date and is likely to take plenty of stopping now pitched into a handicap off an attractive opening mark. Dream Harder is respected on the back of his solid effort at Nottingham, but bigger threats may be posed by the fillies Cappoquin and Neandra, both of whom are open to improvement.
