Fire Eyes⁴⁰

4/1

Signed off for George Boughey with an AW novice win last summer. No significant impact in 4 handicaps for her new yard since but she's been dropped another 3 lb and this is definitely easier.

Carrigillihy¹⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: D Allan| T: T D Easterby| OR: 70| D

11/8

Won over this trip at Pontefract in April. His form has been a bit mixed since then but he has dropped back to only 1 lb above that successful mark.

Order Of St John¹⁴⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 8-12| J: Josephine Gordon| T: D J Jeffreys| OR: 59| C

7/2

Course winner over 1m last summer. Struggled to make an impact in handicap hurdles when last seen at the beginning of the year. Unproven over this far on the Flat. Possibly best watched back from 5 months off.

Form: 161630-

Bit Of A Quirke^v¹⁸

Age: 9| Weight: 8-10| J: Hollie Doyle| T: M Walford| OR: 57| C

11/4

Course winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2021. 25/1, respectable fifth of 11 in handicap at Beverley (1¼m, good to firm) 18 days ago. Visor back on. One to take seriously.

Form: 08-4275

Forecasts

Carrigillihy (11/8), Bit Of A Quirke (11/4), Order Of St John (7/2), Fire Eyes (4/1)

BIT OF A QUIRKE is down to 3 lb lower than when scoring here last year so he might be the way to go having performed with credit at Beverley last time. Carrigillihy may give him most to do.
