David Incles 80th Birthday Mares' Handicap Chase

Off time: 15:27 | Winning time: 6m 40.16s

Grageelagh Girl²³

Age: 11| Weight: 12-0| J: Tom Broughton⁽⁷⁾| T: F O'Brien| OR: 99| C

2/1

Veteran mare who landed back-to-back points in May. First past the post in 25.5f hunter chase at Cartmel in June (disqualified owing to weight cloth falling off) and whilst below best over hurdles since, a better showing not ruled out back over fences here.

Form: U2-11D4

My Lady Grey^p²⁶

Age: 8| Weight: 11-11| J: Brendan Powell| T: J Tizzard| OR: 96| CD

15/8

8-yo who has got her act together over fences, landing back-to-back C&D novice handicap events in recent months. Shaping only second best when left in front latterly but she shouldn't be underestimated in another small-field affair from 1 lb higher.

Form: 2323-11

Cresswell Queen^h,t³¹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-7| J: Harry Reed| T: Mrs D A Hamer| OR: 92

15/8

Hurdles winner for Tristan Davidson who was well served by hold-up tactics when cruising clear to make a winning yard/chase debut at Ffos Las (23.8f) 31 days ago. Hit with a 10 lb rise but she's low-mileage in this sphere. Respected.

Form: 6012-31

On Time^t⁵⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 10-8| J: Conor Ring⁽³⁾| T: Evan Williams| OR: 79

16/1

Well held in a bumper/over hurdles and similar story when distant fourth of 5 on handicap chase debut at Fakenham (2m) in May. Steps back up markedly in trip now but others much more convincing. Cheekpieces left off.

Form: 57875-4

Forecasts

Cresswell Queen (15/8), My Lady Grey (15/8), Grageelagh Girl (2/1), On Time (16/1)

MY LADY GREY looked booked for second when left in front 2 out over C&D 26 days ago, yet that shouldn't detract from the fact she's looked more convincing over fences in recent months and, from a 1 lb higher mark, she could be the answer. Easy Ffos Las scorer Cresswell Queen may emerge next best ahead of Grageelagh Girl.
