Off time: 20:55 | Winning time: 4m 52.58s

Dinsdale²³

Age: 9| Weight: 12-1| J: Luca Morgan⁽³⁾| T: M Scudamore| OR: 101| C

18/1

It's been a struggle, both in this sphere and on the Flat, since returning from a lengthy absence in October and he needs to bounce back in a major way.

Form: 2/47-767

Felino De Bersy^t²⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 12-0| J: Lee Edwards| T: Dave Roberts| OR: 100

40/1

Runner-up twice in points in May and also second back hurdling for new yard in a 15.8f Southwell novice last month, albeit that was a three-runner affair and he was brushed aside by the long odds-on winner. Handicap debut.

Form: 4P4-222

Barely Famous^t1¹⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: Charlie Hammond| T: Joe Ponting| OR: 93| D

50/1

Uttoxeter maiden winner last summer, but bought cheaply out of Nicky Henderson's stable and well held all four runs for current yard. Now tried in a tongue strap.

Form: 2P6-P98

Kapitaliste^t,v²³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: Philip Armson⁽⁵⁾| T: Alexandra Dunn| OR: 93

11/2

Raised his game when landing back-to-back 18.5f Newton Abbot handicaps in May. Placed both subsequent starts at the same course and likely to give another good account with conditions to suit.

Form: 30-1133

Midnight Jewel²⁷²

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: Lily Pinchin⁽³⁾| T: C E Longsdon| OR: 93| BF| D

7/2

Multiple winner at around 19f last year, and likely he would've given the winner more to think about with a better round of jumping when second at Fakenham on latest start in October. Each-way shout if fully tuned-up.

Form: 214112-

Mac Suibhne^t¹¹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-6| J: Emma Smith-Chaston⁽⁵⁾| T: Micky Hammond| OR: 92

11/4

More miss than hit for previous connections in Ireland, but was second between the flags in May and recently went one better back hurdling in a Market Rasen handicap (20.6f, good) on debut for Micky Hammond. Unpenalised for that and he's the one to beat.

Form: 045F2-1

Stumps Or Slips^h,t²⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 11-5| J: Luke Scott⁽⁷⁾| T: T H Weston| OR: 91

5/1

Promising return when a close second at Uttoxeter and wasn't seen to best effect in first-time hood/tongue strap (both retained) over 2m here last month. This new trip could bring about some improvement and he's one to consider.

Form: 397-265

Right Destination²⁵

Age: 8| Weight: 11-3| J: Liam Harrison⁽³⁾| T: F O'Brien| OR: 89

9/1

Rather in-and-out on the whole and while his recent reappearance (fit from a spin between the flags in May) third over 2m here was a creditable effort, he is now 0-16 over hurdles.

Form: 3828-33

Stigwood¹⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 10-11| J: Kielan Woods| T: A M Hales| OR: 88

17/2

Modest maiden on the Flat for Eve Johnson Houghton. Best effort in this sphere so far when third of 12 in a Southwell handicap (15.8f, good to firm) last time, but that will need improving upon now upped in trip if he's to play a leading role.

Form: 64-353

Magic Venture^h¹⁹⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 10-3| J: Benjamin Poste| T: Katy Price| OR: 75

50/1

Lightly-raced maiden hurdler who has offered little in maiden/novice company and a huge step forward is needed now pitched into a handicap.

Form: 9/6F00-

Belle Na Bann^t1³⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 10-2| J: James Best| T: N P Mulholland| OR: 71

14/1

Little in the way of solid form so far, pulled up on handicap bow at Uttoxeter (23.3f, good to soft) last time, and she's 3 lb 'wrong' at the weights. Tongue strap enlised.

Form: 35P-6P

Forecasts

Mac Suibhne (11/4), Midnight Jewel (7/2), Stumps Or Slips (5/1), Kapitaliste (11/2), Stigwood (17/2), Right Destination (9/1), Belle Na Bann (14/1), Dinsdale (18/1), Felino De Bersy (40/1), Barely Famous (50/1), Magic Venture (50/1)

MAC SUIBHNE escapes a penalty (due to go up 6 lb) for his smooth breakthrough success at Market Rasen and he'll take some stopping if in a similar mood. Kapitaliste arrives here in good form and has to enter calculations, while Midnight Jewel won't be far away if ready to roll following a break. However, the selection may have most to fear from Stumps Or Slips, who shapes as though this stiffer test could be just what he needs.
