Three-time 7f winner in 2021 who was better than ever when a close second at York (7f) in May. Ran poorly in Buckingham Palace at Royal Ascot but capable of bouncing back in these calmer waters.
Further progress when bagging 1m handicaps at Sandown and Ascot last summer. Found marks in the 100s beyond him on final 2 starts last year, though, and peak fitness has to be taken on trust after 7 months off.
Useful gelding in the UAE and ran to a similar level when third of 11 at Chester in May. Well held in big-field events at Ascot either side.
Won this race 12 months ago and warmed up for a repeat with a good reappearance second at York (7f) 3 weeks ago. Versatile regards ground. Has to be on the shortlist.
C&D winner in April and even better form when going in at Thirsk and Chester in May. Latest fifth back at Chester does show that a bit more is needed from this mark, though.
Won a 6f course maiden on debut last May and useful form when placed on his next 2 starts. Found 2000 Guineas at Newmarket and Jersey at Royal Ascot well beyond him but should find life easier back in a handicap.
Prominent racer who was successful 4 times in a productive 2021 campaign, including over C&D. Creditable efforts at Chester first 2 outings this year and worth forgiving a lesser run at Royal Ascot latest. Player.
Looked better than ever when signing off last season on a winning note at Ayr (7f, good). Made a solid return to action when 2 lengths fourth of 9 at York 3 weeks ago and he needs considering with that behind him.
C&D winner. Eight wins from 28 Flat runs. Latest win at Southwell in March but not seen since a respectable fourth at Lingfield later that month.
Just 1-28 but he has run well on 3 of his 4 outings this year, keeping on to be fourth of 15 when stepping back up to 7f at York last month. Likely to be in the shake-up again.
Resumed winning ways at Sandown last September and positive start to the current campaign when placed at Musselburgh and Goodwood this spring, bumping into a progressive one at latter. Considered.
C&D winner. Bit below form fifth of 9 in handicap at Newcastle (7f) last weekend. On a winning mark but need to see more before lending support.

Young Fire (9/2), Boardman (5/1), Titan Rock (5/1), Tacarib Bay (11/2), Fools Rush In (13/2), Marshal Dan (10/1), Oo De Lally (10/1), Woven (14/1), Happy Craf (14/1), Zip (18/1), Stone Soldier (18/1), Spirit Of Light (33/1), Dashing Roger (33/1)
A handicap with a very open look to it. YOUNG FIRE made a fine return to action at York last month and might be up to taking this race for the second year running. Fools Rush In has a good course record and is suited by give in the ground so he's a must for the shortlist. Marshal Dan and Titan Rock are others to consider.
