Made it 2-2 over fences here when landing a seven-runner handicap (16.3f, good) 11 days ago, sealing the deal with a good jump at the final fence. Remains on a feasible mark up 5 lb and return to this trip won't be an issue.

Off the mark for David Pipe over C&D last month and has subsequently added to his tally at Fakenham and Uttoxeter. However, he ran no sort of a race at Worcester on Sunday and probably worth taking on if turned out again quickly.

Not getting any younger, but he hit the target three times in 2021 and returned to form with cheekpieces refitted when driven clear to land a 25.6f Ludlow handicap (good) last month. Won't get things his own way out in front here, but he's a big player all the same.

Forecasts
Kauto The King (4/6), Al Roc (2/1), Black Gerry (9/4), Across The Line (6/1), Mr Mafia (13/2)
The vote goes to KAUTO THE KING, who landed a higher-grade handicap over 16.3f here recently and moving back up in trip will, if anything, be a good thing. Across The Line performed poorly behind the selection last time and Al Roc bombed out at Worcester on Sunday, which leaves Black Gerry and the veteran Mr Mafia as the main dangers.
