Fairly useful maiden. Promise in 2 handicap starts over 1m and 1¼m this spring. This in-between trip could be ideal. Leading claims.

Progressive form, finishing length second on 1¼m Nottingham handicap debut 18 days ago. Likely capable of better again. Should have a big say.

Fair form in 3 outings at 2. Not obviously well treated for handicap debut after 6 months off but he's a lightly-raced sort from a top stable so improvement certainly can't be discounted.

Winner on 9.5f AW reappearance/handicap debut. Possibly unsuited by the track when comfortably held at Epsom and Newmarket since and this Flat course could be more to his liking.

Lightly-raced maiden. First run since leaving Adam West when beaten at short odds in 7.5f Beverley maiden on reappearance. Still early days for this good stable and retains potential now handicapping up in trip.

Pair of 1m wins on Kempton's AW earlier in the year. Didn't appear to get home when stepped up to 1¼m at Newmarket last time so this slightly shorter trip may help.

Forecasts

Clear Day (5/2), Paradias (3/1), Australian Harbour (3/1), Land Of Eagles (11/2), Bulleit (7/1), Spy (20/1)

Verdict

A smallish field but it's quite an interresting 3-y-o event. This sort of trip could be ideal for PARADIAS so he gets the nod to make light of top weight for the Alan King team. Australian Harbour can continue his run-by-run improvement and pose the chief threat ahead of Land of Eagles, who failed to fire on his first outing for George Boughey but appeals as one who'll click for his new stable before long.
