Fire Squadron⁷⁸

Age: 7| Weight: 11-4| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: David Dennis| OR: 117

5/2

Fair hurdler for Gordon Elliott. Ran poorly at Down Royal in March but sets a clear standard in this sphere on his earlier form.

Form: 25/7876-

Rory And Me^t⁴²

Age: 7| Weight: 11-4| J: Alain Cawley| T: Micky Hammond| OR: 105| C

15/8

Dual bumper in 2019 who has shown fair form over hurdles, though failed to get the job done after being left with the race at his mercy at Newcastle in February. Well held both starts since, so needs to get back on track.

Form: 2/34245-

The Great Phoenix⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-4| J: R P McLernon| T: L Allan

40/1

Fair maiden on the Flat for Gay Kelleway in 2018. Fit from points and showed a glimmer of ability on 19f Warwick hurdles debut 9 days ago. Needs to build on that.

Form: 1FP45-7

Belvedere Blast²⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 10-12| J: Tom Midgley⁽⁵⁾| T: A Keatley

Modest maiden on Flat, stays 1¼m. Considerate introduction to hurdling at Hexham in April but showed nothing back on the level at Catterick last time.

20/1

Modest maiden on Flat who showed a bit when fourth in a novice hurdle at Chepstow in early April. However, went with little promise switched to a handicap at Worcester subsequently.

Form: P64-0

Forecasts

Rory And Me (15/8), Dash Of Spice (2/1), Fire Squadron (5/2), Hard Iron (12/1), Belvedere Blast (14/1), Codebook (20/1), Joe Kidd (25/1), The Great Phoenix (40/1)

Useful Flat recruit DASH OF SPICE looks to have been found a good opportunity on his hurdles debut and is fancied to make his class tell. Fire Squadron left Gordon Elliott after a poor run at Down Royal in March, but will prove a big threat if returning to something like his best.
