Won back-to-back Ascot handicaps over 5f last summer prior to career-best effort when fourth in a Group 3 at Newbury. Gelded, shaped as if needing run on return from 7 months off at that venue in April and better effort expected now on back of a wind op.
3-time C&D winner who ran creditably returning from 6 months off when third of 10 in handicap at Redcar (6f, good) 45 days ago, keeping on. Eased back down to last winning and he's worth considering, particularly on ground softer than good.
Useful sprint handicapper who was set some stiff tasks last year but never figured on return in class 2 conditions' event at Haydock (6f) 26 days ago, albeit on the back of 7 months off. Will hold more chance in handicaps at least from sliding mark.
Capitalised on falling mark at Doncaster (6f) in April and turned in another solid effort at Thirsk (6f) when runner-up at that venue 3 weeks ago, running on. Just touched off from 1 lb lower mark in this race 12 months ago and he's a big player in refitted blinkers.
Bagged a C&D handicap last summer and tasted success twice thereafter in 6f handicaps on AW. Caught the eye on return at Newmarket in April but slow starts at Newmarket/York haven't helped since. Return to this stiffer track needs to have positive effect.
Goes particularly well with cut in the ground, going in again from this mark at Ayr (6f, soft) in October. Bubbling under nicely in 6/7f handicaps in recent months but forecast conditions could ideally be softer.
3-time C&D winner. 2 wins from 4 runs this year. Career best when winning 9-runner handicap (13/2) at Beverley (7.4f, good to firm) 5 days ago, coming home strongly off a sound pace. Possibilities with return to 6f holding no fears and he's the sole 3-y-o in this field.
Ran only twice in 2021, yet proved he still has plenty to offer this spring, reeled in only late on over C&D in May. Not disgraced eighth of 21 in a stronger race at York since but he's eligible for weaker races than this.
In cracking form early last autumn, completing a hat-trick when seeing off 21 rivals to take Bronze Cup at Ayr. Yet to hit top form in handful of starts this campaign but another who is steadily easing in the weights for when things do click.
Readily landed Leicester claimer (7f, heavy) in October and continued good work on AW thereafter, successful twice over 6f at Southwell. Creditable second over C&D 8 days ago but this is a tougher ask back up in class. Eng 6.35 Ripon Wednesday.

A cracking class 2 handicap with the vote in favour of last year's runner-up RATHBONE. A winner at Doncaster on his penultimate start, he backed that up when runner-up at Thirsk 3 weeks ago and, refitted with blinkers, all looks set fair for another big run. That said, 3-time C&D winner I'm A Gambler is a big threat having scored in good style at Beverley on Saturday with his 3-y-o allowance another big plus. Air Raid completes the shortlist.
