Fanzone⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 9-9| J: Jason Watson| T: L Bailey| OR: 60

5/2

Winner at Musselburgh (7f) in April. 25/1, fifth of 7 in handicap at Hamilton (8.3f, good) 5 days ago. Does need to shrug off a lesser effort last time but no forlorn hope if doing so in this line up.

Form: 33-4165

Captain Claret³⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 9-9| J: Joanna Mason| T: Mrs R Carr| OR: 60| D

9/2

Losing run is mounting up but he did shape encouragingly when fourth on return/yard debut over 7f here in April. Not in same form on back of a slow start at Thirsk subsequently but better showing not ruled out from career-low mark now.

Form: 5358-40

(6)

Esticky End¹⁶

Age: 4| Weight: 9-7| J: Connor Beasley| T: T D Barron| OR: 58| D

4/1

Proved as good as ever when successful on return at Beverley (7.4f) 4 weeks ago but very disappointing at Thirsk 16 days ago, essentially refusing to race. Clearly risky on the back of that.

Form: 9156-10

(8)

Wild Thunder³⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 9-6| J: Shane Gray| T: M & D Easterby| OR: 57

3/1

Fifteen runs since last win in 2019 and he never made an impact in 6 starts for present stable last season. Did stop the slide when finishing a close-up eighth of 15 in handicap at Thirsk (7f) on return in April though and not dismissed here.

Form: 98857-8

(3)

Mac Ailey^b¹⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 9-3| J: D Fentiman| T: T D Easterby| OR: 54| D

11/2

50/1, thirteenth of 15 in handicap at Thirsk (8f, good to firm) 16 days ago, weakening 2f out. Handicapper is relinquishing his grip at least.

Form: 3892-80

(5)

Wrath Of Hector²⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 9-2| J: Lewis Edmunds| T: Jessica Macey| OR: 53

22/1

16/1, first run since leaving Michael Appleby when tenth of 13 in handicap at Nottingham (6.1f, good) 24 days ago. Significantly back up in trip.

Form: 001480

(4)

Gloryella^b²⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 8-9| J: Faye McManoman⁽³⁾| T: B Rothwell| OR: 45

40/1

Remains a maiden after 28 Flat runs. Seventh of 16 in handicap at Wetherby (1m) 4 weeks ago, not quicken from 2f out. Likely set for another struggle.

Form: 950707

Forecasts

Rocket Rod (11/10), Fanzone (5/2), Wild Thunder (3/1), Esticky End (4/1), Captain Claret (9/2), Mac Ailey (11/2), Wrath Of Hector (22/1), Gloryella (40/1)

ROCKET ROD produced his best effort since his 3-y-o days when running out a convincing winner at Newcastle 6 days ago and holds sound claims if replicating that back on turf under a penalty. Wild Thunder ought to come on for his Thirsk return and is feared, along with Captain Claret from a career-low mark.
