Off the mark at Newcastle in December and looked well suited by the 2f longer trip to double his tally on his second handicap start at Nottingham (turf debut) last month. Beaten only by an unexposed one at Sandown 3 weeks ago and holds solid each-way claims.

Opened his account in a Kempton novice in January and followed up on handicap debut 13 weeks later at that same venue, no more than workmanlike on the day but continuing his education/progression. Will go on improving and every chance of completing the hat-trick on turf debut.

From a good family and made a winning start in 11.1f Southwell novice in January. Had a wind operation and improved further when making all at Haydock just under 3 weeks ago, rallying to lead again final strides. Fancied to feature on handicap debut.

Well backed and barely had to improve to get off the mark in Chelmsford novice in November. Ran pretty well in the circumstances when third on handicap debut (Al Qareem first) at Nottingham on return (came from completely different position to the first 2) and he remains open to progress.

Relished the step up to 1½m when winning 4-runner at Wolverhampton (12.2f) in January and he probably need the outing when finishing a well-beaten fourth at Leicester (turf debut) last month. His Wolverhampton win was backed up by the clock so he's worth another chance.

Left his 3 runs last year well behind when making a winning handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) in March and had plenty up his sleeve when following up back there a fortnight later. This obviously much tougher but he may well progress again. 1 of 3 for the Johnston yard.

Runner-up in maidens at Chester and Goodwood last season but he failed to improve as anticipated on handicap debut at Newmarket 12 days ago, leaving the firm impression that he didn't handle the track. Should have more to offer but looks third choice of the Johnston trio.

The Gurkha filly who caused a surprise as she made a winning start at Chelmsford in November and matched that form 4 months later for her new yard at Wolverhampton last month. Pitched in against some potentially useful types for this handicap debut.

Both of Charlie Appleby's runners are open to further improvement bidding for hat-tricks. Narrow preference is for WILD CRUSADE, who continued with his progression when scoring on handicap debut at Kempton last month and, nudged up 5 lb for that success, he gets the verdict to make a winning start on the turf and get the better of stablemate New Comedy. Pons Aelius may prove the pick of the Johnston trio so he can fill out third spot.
