Ungenuine type. C&D winner. 33/1, possibly needed the run after 6 months off when last of 7 in handicap at Bath (5f, good to firm) 4 days ago, weakening approaching final 1f. May still need this outing.

150/1, again showed little when ninth of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (5f) when last seen 6 months ago. Would take a huge leap of faith to get involved.

C&D winner. 7/1, creditable second of 5 in handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW) 8 days ago (reportedly lost a couple of shoes and carried right late on). Can give another good account.

13/2 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, much improved when winning 9-runner handicap at Bath (5.7f, good to firm) 4 days ago, making all. Expected to be bang there under a penalty if the headgear continues to have the same effect.

Last of 10 in handicap (11/1) at this course (6.1f, good to soft). Off 12 months and he has plenty to prove at present.

5-time course winner. Ninth of 10 in handicap (50/1) at Wolverhampton (7.2f), unable to sustain effort. Off 5 months. Down in trip. Cheekpieces back on. Down to a career-low mark but he's not getting any younger and needs to show more spark.

Remains a maiden after 25 Flat runs. Wasn't seen to best effect when eighth of 12 in handicap at Windsor (6f, good, 16/1) 17 days ago, short of room entering final 1f. Consistent at a lowly level and could have a say in proceedings.

Lightly-raced maiden on Flat. 40/1, failed to improve when eighth of 16 on turf/handicap debut at Windsor (6f, good) 17 days ago. Cheekpieces on for 1st time.

Forecasts

Symbol of Hope (15/8), Major Valentine (9/2), Rhubarb (5/1), Equally Fast (6/1), Hooray Henry (15/2), Gordonontheorgan (11/1), Secretfact (12/1), Eastern Delight (40/1)

Verdict

SYMBOL OF HOPE responded well to the fitting of first-time cheekpieces when running out a decisive winner at Bath on Sunday and, provided the headgear has the same effect here, Grace Harris' charge should take some stopping under a penalty. Rhubarb is consistent at this lowly level so he's fancied to be in the mix, along with Equally Fast.
