6/4

Eleven runs since last win in 2021. Below-par fifth of 8 in handicap at Kempton (7f, 13/8) 38 days ago, so he makes tapeta debut with a bit to prove.

Spirited Guest²⁰⁰

13/2

Three wins from 13 runs last year and posted respectable sixth of 17 in handicap at Ascot (7f, good to soft, 33/1) when last seen out 6 months ago. Can give a good account on his return.

Form: 09857-0

(2)

Dutch Decoy²²

Age: 5| Weight: 9-3| J: J Fanning| T: C & M Johnston| OR: 81| D

7/1

Ungenuine type. Seventh of 11 in handicap (11/1) at Newcastle (7.1f) 22 days ago, so others are more persuasive.

Form: 232537

(3)

Mellys Flyer^h⁴¹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-2| J: Daniel Muscutt| T: George Scott| OR: 80| BF| D

6/1

Latest win at Kempton in February. 2/1, last of 6 in handicap there (6f) 41 days ago, doing too much too soon. Very much the sort to bounce back and weighted to go close.

Form: 3441-16

(5)

Mudlahhim^b²

Age: 6| Weight: 9-0| J: L Morris| T: S Dixon| OR: 78| CD

12/1

C&D winner. 18/1 and blinkered for 1st time, twelfth of 13 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 2 days ago. Others more persuasive.

Poetic Force¹⁹

Age: 8| Weight: 8-10| J: Mollie Phillips⁽⁵⁾| T: A W Carroll| OR: 74| C| D

8/1

Latest win at Lingfield in February. Respectable fourth of 9 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f, 33/1) 19 days ago, faring best of those held up. 4-time course winner can't be ruled out.

Form: 854-154

Forecasts

King's Knight (6/4), Society Lion (11/2), Mellys Flyer (6/1), Spirited Guest (13/2), Dutch Decoy (7/1), Poetic Force (8/1), Mudlahhim (12/1)

MELLYS FLYER wasn't seen to best effect when ridden too aggressively at Kempton and can capitalise on a handy mark at the chief expense of the returning Spirited Guest, who was a three-time winner last term. Poetic Force is always to be highly respected round here and can have a say too.
