Eastbury Novices' Hurdle (GBB Race)

Off time: 14:05 | Winning time: 3m 36.93s

Carolines Charm¹⁵⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 11-1| J: Adam Wedge| T: N P Mulholland| OR: 117

4/1

Has made up into a fairly useful chaser, successful 4 times at up to 21.6f. First run since November and a rare go over hurdles with the trip probably on the short side, but could make his class tell if ready to roll.

Form: PP2524

Crosspoint²⁰

Age: 9| Weight: 11-1| J: Thomas Doggrell⁽⁷⁾| T: Dr J R J Naylor

250/1

Unplaced completed start (ran out on debut) in points and no impact in pair of maiden hurdles here (lost shoe last time).

Form: R5/P9

Dances On The Sand

Age: 6| Weight: 11-1| J: T Scudamore| T: D Pipe

6/1

Kalanisi gelding. Dam bumper/2¾m hurdle winner out of fair hurdler/chaser (3m-3½m winner) Lady of Gortmerron. This doesn't look a strong race for his debut and he's worth a look for in-form yard.

Form:

Logan's Choice^t³⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-1| J: Conor Ring⁽³⁾| T: N Lampard| OR: 51

300/1

Looks of little account in this sphere, well beaten by Harlem Soul here last time.

Form: PU-P00P

Toronto^h³⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-1| J: Angus Cheleda⁽⁵⁾| T: B Barr

5/1

Fairly useful at best on Flat. Promising enough start over hurdles behind Harlem Soul and 3 subsequent winners here last month but suspect he'll be more one for handicaps before too much longer.

Form: 5

Harlem Soul³⁹

Age: 4| Weight: 11-0| J: Brendan Powell| T: C L Tizzard| OR: 122| CD

4/7

Left first 2 hurdle runs for Harriet Brown well behind when making a successful start for this yard in C&D novice last month, seeing off 3 subsequent winners. More to come from this fairly useful Flat performer and this looks a very good opportunity for him to follow up.

Form: 541

Courtly Love^t⁹⁹

Age: 9| Weight: 10-8| J: Jack Andrews⁽⁵⁾| T: O Signy| OR: 70

100/1

Little impact in various disciplines.

Form: 28B/P6-9

Norman Kindu^p1²³

Age: 4| Weight: 10-7| J: Harry Reed| T: N P Mulholland

66/1

Fair on the Flat for David O'Meara but showed nothing on hurdles debut for this yard at Fakenham recently. Headgear goes on.

Form: 8

Forecasts

Harlem Soul (4/7), Carolines Charm (4/1), Toronto (5/1), Dances On The Sand (6/1), Norman Kindu (66/1), Courtly Love (100/1), Crosspoint (250/1), Logan's Choice (300/1)

A thin novice hurdle even for the time of year with HARLEM SOUL presented with a good opportunity to follow up his victory here last month. That was a very good start for Colin Tizzard and the first three behind him all won next time. The danger could be debutant Dances On The Sand and the betting could be revealing. Fairly useful chaser Carolines Charm completes the shortlist.
