Proved well ahead of his opening mark as he emphatically shed the maiden tag at Lingfield last month. Gelded and followed up at Wolverhampton just over 3 weeks later and while he's clearly progressing, this is his toughest assignment yet on turf debut.
Off the mark at second attempt when readily taking 9-runner minor event at Salisbury (8f) in September. Failed to meet expectations at Ayr a fortnight later but he remains open to improvement on reappearance.
Got up late to make a winning start in 16-runner maiden at this track (7f) in September but found wanting for experience in a listed event at Pontefract 5 weeks later. Makes handicap debut and should get back on track.
Sea The Stars gelding who probably didn't need to improve to get off the mark at Goodwood back in September, overcoming trouble in-running to do so. Open to improvement now moving into handicaps.
Camelot filly who was strong in the betting and looked a good prospect as she made a winning start in 9-runner minor event at Ayr in August. Failed to progress at Epsom next time but bred to be much better at 3 yrs so can't be discounted.
Finished a place behind Base Note in third at Wolverhampton in January and was value for extra as he got off the mark at Chelmsford next time, finding plenty to lead late on. Will go on improving into handicaps so rates a major player.
Showed improved form to get off the mark at Nottingham in August and took her form up a level when making a winning handicap debut back there a couple of months later. Type to do even better at 3 yrs so rates a leading player.
Positive start in handicaps over 1m at Kempton towards the end of 2021, finishing a close second before going one better with a bit to spare. Similar form when runner-up there in January but looks up against it here facing several potential improvers.

Forecasts
Typewriter (3/1), Grand Alliance (10/3), Thunder Max (7/2), War Horse (5/1), Outbreak (8/1), Base Note (12/1), Merlin's Lady (18/1), New Shepard (28/1)
Impossible to rule out any of these with several open to improvement making their handicap debut. One of those is GRAND ALLIANCE, who was value for more than the ¾-length winning margin at Chelmsford last month so Charlie Fellowes' colt gets the verdict to make a winning start on the turf. Typewriter, Outbreak and Thunder Max rate the principal dangers in that order.
