Losing run is mounting up but he took a step back in the right direction when runner-up in novice handicap at Leicester (20.1f, soft) 24 days ago. Still prone to errors but should be able to build on his latest effort back up in trip.

Long-standing maiden over jumps who ran creditably in a couple of 3m handicap chase contests at Exeter initially this term. Undone by a bad mistake at Wincanton since but, in first-time cheekpieces, ran poorly over C&D last time. Others preferred.

Showed improved form over fences since the blinkers have been applied, completing a hat-trick with success in conditional jockeys handicap at Fontwell (26f, good to soft) in October. Not in the same form when only third at Kempton (3m) later that month, but could bounce back over this longer trip.

Below par both starts over fences this season, but ran creditably reverted to hurdling for the first time in nearly 3 years when runner-up at Taunton (23.9f, heavy) 22 days ago. Well treated back chasing again if 1st time blinkers have a positive effect.

Found plenty for pressure when shedding maiden tag in novice handicap at Uttoxeter (3m, soft) in December. Matched that effort when runner-up next 2 starts, but has been below that level on his last 2 outings. Could get closer to form this time though for in-form trainer.

Forecasts

Bretney (2/1), Big Difference (11/4), Ashfield Paddy (16/5), Faustinovick (11/2), Mister Tickle (17/2)

Verdict

MISTER TICKLE has been transformed over fences by the application of blinkers, completing a hat-trick of wins at around 26f with his latest success coming at Fontwell in October. He may have disappointed when only third at Kempton later the same month, but that run came over 3m so he can resume winning ways returned to further. Ashfield Paddy is respected following his runner-up effort last time, while Bretney can run his race again for the in-form Henry Daly.
