Tends to peak during summer and he got back to winning ways in 10-runner handicap chase at Worcester (23f, good) last June. Off since a lesser run at Perth in July but he has gone well fresh before.

Verdict

GUY has been knocking on the door this term and this might be his day. Pontresina would have been placed in a competitive event at Cheltenham in November but for a late unseat and will be a threat if showing up in similar form. Tide Times showed he can be very competitive off his mark when second at Wincanton last time and should also be thereabouts in what looks quite a tight race.
