Morris Property Novices' Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Off time: 14:55 | Winning time: 5m 5.70s

Another Brown Bear⁶⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 11-12| J: N de Boinville| T: N J Henderson| OR: 119

4/1

Shirocco gelding who showed fair form (here) on second of 4 starts over hurdles earlier this term. Below that level subsequently but he's a chaser on looks, so not ruled out tackling larger obstacles.

Form: 41-82P7

Hamilton Dici⁸²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-10| J: Chester Williams⁽³⁾| T: K Bailey & M Nicholls| OR: 117| BF| D

11/4

Winning hurdler who jumped well to make winning return/chase debut at Warwick (20f) in November. Performed creditably in defeat both starts thereafter and he's worth a look back from a break here.

Form: 013-144

Cilluirid^t³⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 11-6| J: Jamie Hamilton| T: T D Easterby| OR: 113

5/1

Already successful 3 times over fences this season (all at Sedgefield). Back to form when third at Catterick (19.2f) last month without finding a great deal, but he's a big player nevertheless.

Form: 1311P3

Landsman^t,v²⁵

Age: 9| Weight: 10-11| J: Charlie Price⁽³⁾| T: Tim Vaughan| OR: 104| D

4/1

Record under various codes is patchy and he again ran poorly when well held seventh in 10-runner novices' handicap chase at Chepstow (19.5f) in February. Mark continues to ease at least.

Form: 24PF97

Marettimo¹⁴

Age: 8| Weight: 10-5| J: Harry Kimber⁽⁷⁾| T: W G M Turner| OR: 98| BF

11/4

Caused something of a surprise to shed maiden tag on chase debut at Taunton (18f) and similar form in finishing placed both starts since at up to this trip. Can give another good account.

Form: 6/77133

Forecasts

Marettimo (11/4), Hamilton Dici (11/4), Landsman (4/1), Another Brown Bear (4/1), Cilluirid (5/1)

Already successful 3 times over fences this season under today's pilot, CILLUIRID dispelled a lesser effort when third from a 2 lb higher mark at Catterick last month and could be the way to go in a tricky small-field affair. Hamilton Dici back from a break may emerge as the chief threat, ahead of Another Brown Bear who tackles larger obstacles for the first time.
