Plenty of promise sole start in bumpers and better with each start over hurdles, staying on for second in a Market Rasen novice (20.6f) last month. Big player here with prospect of more to come.

Form: 4-332

Master Alan⁷⁸

From a family which has produced winners for this yard but has made no impact in trio of hurdle outings spread over 10 months, latterly when pulled up at Kelso (22.7f) in December. Had wind op.

Form: 5-BP

Some promise when third in a 2m novice here back in April but not matched that level since, last of 10 in a Haydock handicap (3m) in December. Back from a break/wind operation now.

Form: 483-U60

Roan⁴⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-6| J: Alan Doyle⁽⁷⁾| T: I Jardine

Showed some promise on his sole outing in bumpers but went backwards from that sent hurdling when well held at Newcastle (20.3f) early last month.

Form: 36

Redesdale Angel¹⁹

Age: 4| Weight: 10-1| J: D B Hurst⁽⁷⁾| T: S Corbett

50/1

Well beaten in bumpers and similarly little in the way of short-term promise in a couple of mares' novice hurdles in recent months. Likely type for low-grade handicaps.

Forecasts

Luke (8/13), Camdonian (13/8), Mauritian Bolt (22/1), Goodoldbill (25/1), Roan (28/1), Redesdale Angel (50/1), Master Alan (125/1)

LUKE has displayed race-by-race progress in a trio of hurdle outings to date, runner-up over this sort of trip at Market Rasen on his latest start in February, and he gets the nod to go one place better now. Camdonian is also a likely type to do better and comfortably rates the chief threat.
