Won at Bangor last summer and another good run there when second over 3m in December. Shaped better than being pulled up at Haydock since suggests and likely still in form.
Winless since 2019 but he got back on track when second in veterans' handicap at Chepstow (3m) in October. Not so good at Sandown the following month but freshened up since and could bounce back.
Sketchy jumper who has generally been out of sorts since leaving Henry de Bromhead cheaply, never posing a threat when fourth of 6 at Wetherby last month.
Has failed to complete on his last 2 outings but is fairly treated based on his placed efforts earlier in the campaign.
Placed on both outings last term. Not been seen for a year but his yard has enjoyed an excellent winter and it would be no surprise to see him go well here.
Temperamental sort but has won twice this season. Another good run when narrowly denied at Doncaster latest but he was rather outbattled. 3 lb out of the handicap.

Forecasts
Steel Wave (9/4), First Figaro (11/4), Cracking Find (9/2), Tanarpino (13/2), Road To Rome (13/2), Game Of War (8/1), Royal Village (10/1), Vivas (11/1), Sir Jack Yeats (12/1)
It might be worth forgiving TANARPINO his run on very testing ground at Haydock just after Christmas and he might be up to defying top weight if he can recapture the level he showed when runner-up to a progressive sort at Bangor prior to that. Vivas has a solid record fresh so is respected back from a break. The Venetia Williams-trained First Figaro also makes the shortlist.
