Useful on Flat, stays 1¾m. Below best in 3 starts in 2021 for Simon & Ed Crisford (sold 35,000 gns), but still rates an interesting recruit to this sphere.

Promise in bumpers but left Willie Mullins for £13,000 after making several mistakes on hurdles debut in October and fared no better with the hood left off on first start for this yard at Newcastle.

£30,000 half-brother to 4 winners, including fairly useful hurdler Flag of Honour (2m winner). Minor promise on second start at Doncaster but looks a handicap project.

€65,000 3-y-o, 26,000 gns 5-y-o, Doctor Dino gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including very smart hurdler Cilaos Emery. Successful on last of 3 starts in Irish points (Dec 12). Respected newcomer.

Bumper winner who posted a good second in a 4-y-o event at Vichy (17.4f) on hurdling debut in August. Bled at Lingfield on his first start for this yard 4 months later, so well worth another chance.

Fifth in a bumper on his debut and shaped as if better for the run sent hurdling after 10 months off at Wetherby 25 days ago.

Fair form in bumpers and had been steadily progressing over hurdles prior to a poor effort back up in trip at Newcastle (20.3f) last month. Worth another chance.

Timeform
Second in a point and offered something to work on in an Irish bumper during the summer. Sold from Mark Fahey for 11,500 gns and raced too freely when pulled up on last month's Wetherby hurdling bow.

Fair maiden hurdler in Ireland for Gavin Cromwell. Well held completed start over fences at Tramore when last seen in August and now back over hurdles for new handler with something to prove.

Forecasts

Ritson (2/1), Gold Emery (5/2), Heltenham (10/3), Battle Of Toro (5/1), Wavelength (11/1), Right Said Ted (33/1), Strike Of Lighting (40/1), Derracrin (66/1), Doors Breaker (150/1)

Verdict

GOLD EMERY was successful on his final outing in Irish points in December and has joined a yard that continue to churn out the winners, so he could well be the answer. French bumper winner Heltenham bled on his first start for Dan Skelton at Lingfield in November, so has to be worth another chance, with useful Flat recruit Battle of Toro also of interest.
