Runner-up in Becher Chase at Aintree in 2019 and 2020 but returned with a rather lacklustre display in latest renewal. Pulled up both starts since, his temperament an issue. Headgear off.

Smart performer on his day but he ended last season below par in veterans' events at Newbury/Ascot. Gave young amateur his first win in a match at Wincanton 12 days ago.

In the form of his life back hurdling, winning 3m handicaps at Newbury and Cheltenham. Could never really land a blow at Sandown but hard to beat if getting near that useful level back over fences.

Dual 23f novice hurdle winner in early-2019. Lightly raced since, failing to convince with his jumping in November 2020. Left Venetia Williams and well held last of 3 finishers on point debut latest.

Forecasts

Dolphin Square (10/11), West Approach (9/4), Kimberlite Candy (5/1), Geordie B (10/1)

Verdict

DOLPHIN SQUARE is evidently still capable of smart form over hurdles and if he can get near that level switched back to a hunter, he will take some stopping. West Approach went with a lot more zest at Wincanton and is the obvious threat with Kimberlite Candy surprisingly going without any headgear.
