LWC Signature Stakes Novices' Hurdle (GBB Race)

Off time: 13:46 | Winning time: 3m 55.00s

Mark Of Gold²⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-7| J: J E Moore| T: G & J Moore| OR: 116| CD

1/6

Fairly useful winner on the Flat and improving over hurdles, off the mark when landing a gamble over C&D last month. More to come for top local trainer and can defy a penalty.

Form: 521

Helix¹⁰⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: N de Boinville| T: M BradstockWS

25/1

Fair winner on Flat. Showed a glimmer of aptitude for hurdling for new yard at Hereford in November but was ultimately well held. Has had a wind op.

Form: 6

Russian Virtue¹⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Tabitha Worsley⁽³⁾| T: C Hobson

22/1

Fairly useful maiden on Flat. Promising start over hurdles for new yard in C&D event in December. Lost a shoe at Uttoxeter next time. Might do better in handicaps.

Form: 26

San Giovanni³⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: Nick Scholfield| T: H Fry

13/2

Made sound start over hurdles for new yard when 9 lengths third of 18 at Wincanton on return but went backwards from that at Taunton, much as he had in bumpers, checking out tamely. More needed.

Form: 50-30

Sukat^t1¹²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Mitchell Bastyan| T: D G Bridgwater

150/1

No show in bumpers/Leicester novice hurdle. Tongue tie reached for.

Form: 80P

Missfit^t1²⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 10-7| J: James Davies| T: N J Gifford

40/1

Good pedigree and promising start when third in 9-runner Lingfield bumper (AW) in December. Not so good at Fakenham next time though and tongue tie goes on for hurdles debut.

Form: 36

Torbellino²⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 10-7| J: James Best| T: K Jewell

15/2

Fair handicapper on Flat. Not knocked about behind Mark of Gold on hurdles debut here last month, showing promise. Should progress.

Form: 4

Iconic Mover⁴¹

Age: 4| Weight: 10-2| J: N F Houlihan⁽³⁾| T: P Phelan

125/1

Poor maiden on Flat. Hard to fancy on hurdles bow.

Gabriel's Getaway²⁵

Weight: 11-0| Age: 5

T: A J Honeyball J: R P McLernon

Forecasts

Mark Of Gold (1/6), San Giovanni (13/2), Torbellino (15/2), Gabriel's Getaway (10/1), Russian Virtue (22/1), Helix (25/1), Missfit (40/1), Iconic Mover (125/1), Sukat (150/1)

MARK OF GOLD secured a memorable success here last month and can defy a penalty. Torbellino showed a bit behind the selection then and can progress. Gabriel's Getaway could have a future over hurdles for his in-form yard if settling down.
