Big prices and pulled up both starts this season having missed 2 years. Been successful twice over these fences and dangerous to rule out for yard among the winners having tumbled in the weights.

Benefited from return to positive tactics when running out 5-length winner of Doncaster veterans' event (3m) under this rider last month. Poor at Sandown since but shouldn't stay down for long.

Sedgefield winner last season and ran well in the Grand Sefton at Aintree in November. Poor run back at former track latest but has scored here from a similar mark in the past.

C&D winner who returned to form when third here over Christmas, plenty to do and losing second near finish. Takes on the veterans now.

Hard to catch right, not disgraced at Leicester a fortnight ago, though equally didn't shape like a winner waiting to happen. Dropped another 3 lb. Has scored here, but not sure to stay this far now.

Sharp Response (11/4), Ramonex (7/2), Indy Five (4/1), Justforjames (9/2), Manwell (11/2), Late Date (7/1), Twojayslad (11/1)

Verdict

It could be worth chancing SHARP RESPONSE returned to Catterick. He won the North Yorkshire National on his last visit to the track 2 years ago and has been given a huge chance by the handicapper after 2 non-completions back from a long absence this term. All may not be lost with him and Sue Smith is among the winners. Manwell and Indy Five are a couple of others to consider.

  1. SHARP RESPONSE (IRE)
  2. MANWELL (IRE)
  3. INDY FIVE (IRE)
