Well held sole start in bumpers but showed plenty of ability in finishing runner-up all 3 starts in novice/maiden hurdles last winter. Occupied same spot on handicap bow/return. Sets clear standard.

Bred more for stamina than speed and looked badly in need of the experience in a Kelso bumper on debut in May. Never nearer on hurdles bow at Ayr on return and step up in trip will suit.

Forecasts

Captain Biggles (6/5), Land Afar (9/4), Domandlouis (5/1), Brandy Mcqueen (8/1), Tough Out (14/1), Escapeandevade (28/1), Bannside (40/1), Lord Roco (80/1)

Verdict

CAPTAIN BIGGLES was runner-up to a couple of good ones in novices last season and this looks a good opportunity for him to go one better now fitted with a tongue tie. Domandlouis shaped well on his hurdles bow here and the step up in trip will suit, so he can follow the selection home.

  1. CAPTAIN BIGGLES (IRE)
  2. DOMANDLOUIS (IRE)
  3. LAND AFAR (IRE)
