Paxtons Best For Genuine Kverneland Metal Open NH Flat Race

Off time: 15:25 | Winning time: 4m 15.43s

Adelphi Sprite⁶⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Joe Williamson⁽⁵⁾| T: P A Kirby

13/2

Out of a hurdling winner and has shown modest form to date in bumpers. At least one of these rivals will likely outclass him, however,

Form: 40-3

Bobs Teal¹⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 11-0| J: Aaron Anderson⁽⁵⁾| T: A D Brown

200/1

Big price and failed to beat a rival at Catterick a fortnight ago, so hard to imagine he'll make a big impact.

Form: 9

Eden Mill³⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 11-0| J: Callum Bewley| T: D W Whillans

10/1

Showed some ability amidst inexperience when fifth at Musselburgh first time out, but may need a marked step up to get involved in this.

Form: 4

Grove Road²⁰¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Adam Wedge| T: A Watson

2/1

€8,000 3-y-o, £27,000 5-y-o, Mahler gelding. Dam unraced sister to useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 3m) Lambro. Third in sole start in Irish points, and yard will likely have him well prepped.

Form: 3

Lawd Dylan³⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 11-0| J: Jack Andrews⁽⁵⁾| T: O Signy

125/1

Offered nothing at Uttoxeter on debut, so hard to fancy in what looks likely to be a competitive event.

Form: 9

Lenny¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Sean Quinlan| T: C Grant

66/1

Cheap purchase who looked rather limited at Catterick 14 days ago. Others make more appeal.

Form: 8

Punta Prima

Age: 4| Weight: 11-0| J: Theo Gillard⁽⁵⁾| T: D McCain Jnr

11/1

£12,000 3-y-o, Mahler gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler/smart chaser (stayed 3½m) Across The Bay. One to consider for stable in terrific form.

Form:

Stroll On By⁵⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 11-0| J: B S Hughes| T: C E Longsdon| BF

10/3

Well-bred 4yo who was a warm order (6/5) when runner-up in a Carlisle bumper 44 days ago. That sets a reasonable standard and he's liable to improve, so warrants plenty of respect.

Form: 2

Summergrounds²¹²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Danny McMenamin| T: N G Richards

18/5

Green beforehand but showed plenty of ability when runner-up at Kelso in May, so could find enough improvement to open his account at the second time of asking 7 months on.

Form: 2

The Questioner²³⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Henry Brooke| T: O Greenall & J Guerriero

14/1

€9,000 3-y-o, £40,000 5-y-o, Ask gelding. Dam unraced, closely related to useful chaser (stayed 3m) Bobcatbilly. Runner-up sole start in Irish points in April. Interesting Rules newcomer.

Form: 2-

Countess Olivia³⁶³

Age: 4| Weight: 10-7| J: Miss Becky Smith⁽³⁾| T: Micky Hammond

66/1

Down the field in a bumper at Wetherby a year ago, and not expected to fare any better.

Form: 0-

Forecasts

Grove Road (2/1), Stroll On By (10/3), Summergrounds (18/5), Adelphi Sprite (13/2), Eden Mill (10/1), Punta Prima (11/1), The Questioner (14/1), Lenny (66/1), Countess Olivia (66/1), Lawd Dylan (125/1), Bobs Teal (200/1)

SUMMERGROUNDS showed plenty and will have learned from his debut at Kelso 7 months ago, so he's fancied to get the better of Stroll On By, with point-recruit Grove Road making some appeal on Rules debut for a stable that should have him well prepped.
