Good pedigree and left debut form behind when landing a bumper in convincing fashion at Chepstow despite tack problems. Kept on well to make successful hurdles bow on return and lots more to come.

Half-brother to bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler Hold The Note, stays 3m, and fairly useful hurdler Supakalanistic. In need of the experience on C&D debut a month ago.

Brother to fair hurdler Acaro (19f winner) and half-brother to 3 winners. Shaped nicely when fifth on debut at Carlisle in October but a shade disappointing at Wincanton since.

Dam, maiden on Flat (stayed 8.5f), half-sister to smart hurdler/useful chaser (2m-19f winner) Royal Shakespeare and unreliable but fair hurdler/fairly useful chaser Safari Adventures.

Placed both starts in Irish points in May but was badly outpaced from home turn in an AW bumper at Lingfield (2m) 24 days ago. Should do better now switching to obstacles.

Fared best of the newcomers sole bumper run and shaped even better sent hurdling after 6 months off when runner-up to a good prospect at Worcester (2m). Failed to land the odds at Bangor.

In good hands but ran to just a poor level in a brace of bumpers last season and pulled up on Ascot hurdle debut/reappearance 5 weeks ago.

Dam (h115), 2½m hurdle winner, half-sister to temperamental but fairly useful hurdler/very smart chaser (stayed 3m) Herecomesthetruth. Tongue tied and little encouragement in a bumper in October.

In frame both starts in Irish points in April. Didn't achieve a great deal on hurdles debut in October but has to be capable of better.

Found just one too good on her introduction in a point bumper at the end of last year. Sent off a big price but promising start when third in a maiden hurdle at Chepstow a month ago.

Looked pretty limited in bumpers so she's most unlikely to make a serious impact.

€10,000 3-y-o, £10,000 5-y-o. Fourth foal, dam unraced sister to useful chaser (stayed 3¼m) Mr Moss. Off mark in Irish points at fourth attempt last time (Oct 3).

Only hinted at ability in bumpers for Ron Hodges and likely a handicap project over hurdles.

Mot A Mot (13/8), Hermes Boy (85/40), Dubrovnik Harry (15/2), American Gerry (9/1), Lettie Lutz (11/1), Atakan (11/1), Kimarelli (33/1), Advantura (33/1), Sevenofus (33/1), Langley Hundred (50/1), Sweet Nightingale (80/1), Motown Lake (80/1), Howzat Valtat (80/1), Overall Majority (80/1), Fortyfive West (100/1), Mizz Moondance (200/1), Sure Listen (200/1), Tommy Dillion (250/1)

Verdict

It's slightly surprising to see MOT A MOT kept to 2m given his strength at the finish when successful at Worcester 3 weeks ago but regardless he is open to plenty of progress and can defy a penalty. Hermes Boy is an obvious threat, while American Gerry's bumper form reads pretty well.

  1. MOT A MOT (FR)
  2. HERMES BOY (FR)
  3. AMERICAN GERRY (IRE)
