Much improved when returning from 5 months off to finish second in a Fontwell novice hurdle 16 days ago, seeming suited by being ridden more positively. That's the best form on offer.

Placed a couple of times in Irish points. Needed experience when fifth on Wetherby bumper debut in March. Worth keeping an eye on in betting now hurdling on return.

Well held in Flat maiden in 2018. Third in a point in October 2020 but little obvious promise in 2 hurdle starts for new yard this autumn.

Off mark in points at second attempt but no show in a pair of novice hurdles last month. Has had a wind operation.

Bumper winner in France in summer 2019 but well beaten in 2 hurdles 16 months apart for new yard. Can only really be watched.

Second in bumper/novice hurdle around 2m at the end of 2020. Off 11 months, faded into sixth over 2½m on Hexham return but may do better back down in trip with a more experienced jockey on board.

Fair Flat winner, including on AW in July. Never involved on Market Rasen hurdle debut back in February but has the potential for better on Flat ability.

Fair form on the Flat. Ran to a similar level in a pair of juvenile hurdles last season. Likely to be in the shake-up.

Poor form in bumpers last winter. Did win at a modest level on AW Flat for Joseph Tuite in May but doesn't strike as a likely type to make winning start over hurdles for new yard after wind op.

Promise when fifth in an Ascot bumper for Kayley Woolacott in February. Shade disappointing when sent hurdling for new yard at Bangor 3 weeks ago but it's clearly early days.

Calidad (4/5), Phoenix Aquilus (9/2), Here We Have It (11/2), Keep It Brief (13/2), Whenthepennydrops (16/1), Champ Is Real (25/1), Fraughan Hill (40/1), Gospelus (80/1), Alchemystique (125/1), Gareth Cael (125/1)

Verdict

A repeat of the form CALIDAD showed at Fontwell earlier this month might be good enough to take this. There were possible excuses (longer trip and inexperienced jockey) for Here We Have It on his reappearance and he's a threat based on his 2 runs last season. Phoenix Aquilus may prove best of the remainder.
