Well supported when winning Coral Cup in 2020 and landed a match over fences at Ayr (16.5f) in January. Things didn't go to plan thereafter but she's not dismissed out of hand on seasonal bow.

Dual chase winner who posted career-best effort when runner-up at Wexford (20f) in July. Never a threat in Galway Plate thereafter but he may not of reached his limit in this sphere.

Landed a C&D maiden chase 13 months ago and ended campaign with a cracking second behind Espoir De Teillee over 19.8f here final start in March, just failing. Interesting on return back up in trip.

Successful twice in handicaps at around 2½m last season and stepped up on return display in August when third at Chepstow (19.5f) last month. Does need to jump better here, though.

Very useful hurdler/chaser for Henry De Bromhead but ended time in Ireland below his best and no encouragement to glean from return/yard debut effort at Cheltenham following a wind op 2 weeks ago.

Smart hurdler who landed a couple of small-field chase contests last year. Mark looked a stumbling block thereafter last term but he could well come for last month's Chepstow reappearance.

Largely progressive over fences last season, running best race when second in Greatwood Gold Cup (19.8f) here in March. Not disgraced on back of wind op in Old Roan last month and not ruled out here.

Better than ever after 5 months off when winning 3-runner handicap at Stratford in May. However, he has offered little in 5 subsequent starts and is passed over here, despite his declining mark.

Failed to go on from promising start over fences last winter and whilst he stopped the slide to an extent when midfield in Badger Ales on return, he didn't find a great deal. Blinkers again enlisted.

Thrived over fences since the spring, making it 4 wins from last 5 starts on return from a break at Wincanton (20f) 3 weeks ago, left with decisive advantage as runner-up blundered last. This tougher

Confined to just 3 starts since landing this race in 2018, a late blunder not doing him any favours when midfield here 12 months ago. Clearly fragile but unlikely to be lacking for fitness on return.

Went off the boil during the summer but freshened up, he returned to his best when second to an unexposed sort at Wetherby (19.4f) 2 weeks ago. Longer trip fine and claims of hitting the frame.

Stayed on strongly to record fourth chase success at Kelso (2¾m) in March. Well held in Topham and given a wind op following below par display on return at Chepstow. However, mark looks about right.

Forecasts

Kalooki (4/1), Killer Clown (9/2), Kapcorse (13/2), Grand Sancy (15/2), Kauto The King (8/1), Ofalltheginjoints (10/1), Dame De Compagnie (12/1), Topofthecotswolds (12/1), Espoir De Teillee (16/1), Somptueux (16/1), Court Master (18/1), Lock's Corner (66/1), Moon Over Germany (150/1)

Verdict

An intriguing puzzle and it may pay to side with second-season chaser KALOOKI. A C&D maiden chase winner, he was highly tried thereafter and only just failed to reel in Espoir de Teillee over shorter here on handicap debut in March. He's of interest from the same mark. 2018 winner Kapcorse is clearly fragile but warrants a look on return. Killer Clown and Somptueux complete the shortlist.

  1. KALOOKI (GER)
  2. KAPCORSE (FR)
  3. KILLER CLOWN (IRE)
