Useful dual-purpose performer who ran another sound race in a competitive handicap hurdle when second of 14 in C&D listed 20 days ago. Looks sure to give another good account.

Showed improved form to readily land a 19f Warwick handicap when last seen in May. Will be fine back at 2m and player if ready to roll after 6 months off.

Useful hurdler/chaser but lightly raced in the last couple of years and hasn't been seen since a disappointing run in a hunter chase in May. Watching brief advised.

Front runner who landed a pair of Market Rasen wins last summer. Respectable fourth of 5 at Plumpton in April but he's never won off a mark this high and others preferred back from break.

Won a Grade 2 at Kempton as a novice. Bit of a mixed record since but latest fifth (Leoncavallo second) of 14 in a C&D listed handicap was respectable.

Hasn't progressed as might have been expected since his C&D hurdle debut win just over a year ago but his reappearance third in a 2½m Cheltenham handicap was creditable. Back down in trip.

Tongue strap on and cashed in on reduced mark in 2m handicap at Ludlow in February but found life tougher in a big-field handicap at Aintree's Grand National meeting on his final start.

Winning hurdle/stable debut in 2m Ludlow maiden in February. Too free at Sandown next time but back on track when second at Ffos Las in April. Unexposed and opening mark looks workable.

Forecasts

Captain Morgs (7/4), Leoncavallo (10/3), Highway One O Two (11/2), Cabot Cliffs (13/2), Garry Clermont (8/1), Method Madness (14/1), Ecu De La Noverie (25/1), Brandon Castle (50/1), Eddiemaurice (66/1)

Verdict

LEONCAVALLO ran just about as well as he's ever done when second in a C&D listed race last month and is sure to make a bold bid to go one better if showing up in similar form. Cabot Cliffs made a sound return to action at Chepstow and may provide the chief threat ahead of Garry Clermont. The lightly-raced Method Madness is another interesting contender.
