Has some temperament but he did manage a win at Wincanton in December. In-and-out form after and has had a wind op ahead of this reappearance.

Resumed winning ways at Hexham (16.2f) in May and similar form when second at Kelso at end of that month. Below that level both starts since but this less demanding than latest Cheltenham assignment.

Useful handicap chaser at his peak. Little in the way of promise last season, but lower in the weights over hurdles and a subsequent wind op may help his cause. Market can guide.

Fairly useful maiden on Flat for Clive Cox who shrugged off a double penalty to complete a hat-trick over timber at Perth in August 2020. Found out in better races to end the year. Handicap debut.

Last season was a write-off but stopped the slide when second of 9 at Huntingdon a month ago. Very well treated if building on that.

Verdict

FANFAN DU SEUIL was back on good terms with himself after a shocking 2020/21 season when runner-up on reappearance (winner that day since followed up) and he now looks very well treated from the same mark. Tulin needs to work on his jumping but clearly has the potential to rate higher should his hurdling improve.

  3. MACK THE MAN (IRE)
