Kid Commando²⁰³

Age: 7| Weight: 11-8| J: Rex Dingle| T: A J Honeyball| OR: 140| CWS

9/2

Smart hurdler who made a winning return here last term. Fell first in Aintree handicap final run but returns after a wind op for his chase debut and needs considering.

Solo^t¹⁸⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-3| J: Lorcan Williams⁽³⁾| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 135WS

8/1

One-time exciting prospect but he failed to score in a disappoiting campaign last term. Goes over fences now, and he's no forlorn hope with his yard among the winners.

Form: 8/45040-

Whatsupwithyou²⁰⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 11-1| J: Kielan Woods| T: B Pauling| OR: 133| C

13/2

Winless over hurdles since his debut here but he posted some good efforts last season, fourth in the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham. Winning pointer who is an interesting chasing prospect.

Form: 3/72540-

Sam Barton²³¹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: Miss E C Lavelle| OR: 132| D

7/2

Fairly useful 19f winner over hurdles who signed off with good fourth in 20f Sandown handicap. Much respected on his first go in this sphere.

Form: 3/5214-

Sizable Sam²⁰⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 10-13| J: T J O'Brien| T: J Scott| OR: 131

11/2

Daul winner at Wincanton either side of Christmas but he was pulled up on his final run in Aintree handicap in April. This is no easy introduction on his chasing bow.

Form: 1/2115P-

Nassalam²²⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 10-12| J: J E Moore| T: G & J Moore| OR: 139

3/1

Useful 18f winner over hurdles who ended last term with respectable tenth in Fred Winter at Cheltenham in March. Another chasing newcomer who merits plenty of respect.

Form: 211220-

Lord Baddesley^h1³⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: Tom Cannon| T: C Gordon| OR: 130

14/1

Dual hurdler winner who shaped encouragingly on his chasing bow when fourth of 5 in handicap at Warwick (2m) 30 days ago. Hooded now and likely to improve.

Form: 5/12U1-4

Forecasts

Nassalam (3/1), Sam Barton (7/2), Kid Commando (9/2), Sizable Sam (11/2), Whatsupwithyou (13/2), Solo (8/1), Lord Baddesley (14/1)

Lots of potential on show here, and WHATSUPWITHYOU is fancied to emerge on top on his first go over fences given he is a winning pointer and hails from a yard in great form. Kid Commando also makes his chasing bow and can't be discounted given his good record when fresh, while Nassalam and Solo both figure on the shortlist in a fascinating novice chase.
