Fairly useful hurdles winner (at 20f) who looked badly in need of the experience when well held eighth on chase debut at Listowel last month. Usual hood refitted now and player back over timber.

Held every chance when last-fence faller on sole point start in December. Easy to back and shaped as though he'd come on for the run when third on hurdles bow at Perth (2m) last month. Can do better.

Failed to better poor form in bumpers and in trouble some way out prior to being pulled up in a Newcastle novice on hurdles bow when last seen in March. Best watched on return to action.

£14,000 5-y-o who arrives having landed both starts in points, the latest in April. Interesting what the market makes of him on Rules/hurdles debut.

Not for the first time departed with the race at his mercy at Sedgefield (19.8f) in April, yet to be asked for effort when falling 2 out. Yard in good form and won't be long in gaining compensation.

Modest handicapper on Flat (stays 1m) who wasn't disgraced when 2 lengths fifth in 13-runner Yarmouth handicap (7f) when last seen in August. However, others more appealing now hurdling for new yard.

Easily best effort when just denied in maiden hurdle at Market Rasen in May. Drop back to 2m likely against him at Hexham in August. Looks ready for handicaps.

Makes little appeal on paper and no real promise when finishing distant last of 6 in a Perth bumper (16.2f) on debut in August. Can only be watched now tackling hurdles.

Forecasts

Malpas (13/8), Glentruan (9/4), Findthetime (4/1), Kinondo Kwetu (8/1), Who's The Guv'nor (17/2), Jinkaman (80/1), Sorbonne (100/1), Wee Jam Town (250/1)

Verdict

MALPAS fell with the race seemingly at his mercy when departing 2 out at Sedgefield in the spring. He's now failed to complete on 3 of his 4 starts over timber but returns with his yard in good form and the likelihood is he can gain compensation. Glentruan is quirky but undoubtedly capable and is feared most back over timber/in a refitted hood.
