8/13

Useful stayer on Flat and has finally come good over hurdles over late, winning maiden/novices at Stratford in late-summer. Just as good when second in Worcester handicap latest. The one to beat.

Any Givin Sunday²¹²

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: Jonjo O'Neill Jr.| T: J & A O'Neill| D

9/1

Bumper winner in Ireland last autumn for Tom Taaffe. Ran poorly at Limerick when last seen in March but retains potential now hurdling for a new yard after a break. Keep an eye on in betting.

Form: 149-

Croagh Patrick⁹⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: Jonathan England| T: S England

100/1

Successful in an Irish point in May but down the field in a pair of bumpers/novice hurdles under Rules. Looks more one for handicaps after this.

Form: F75-185

Denable¹²

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: Nick Scholfield| T: A Carson

125/1

Modest in bumpers/on Flat. No short-term promise on Warwick hurdle debut 12 days ago.

Form: 7/868-8

Highland Parc¹⁶⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: J M Quinlan| T: Miss A Murphy

20/1

Just modest form when runner-up on second of 4 starts in bumpers. Remote sixth on Uttoxeter hurdle debut in May (final start for Nigel Twiston-Davies). Will need to have improved for a trainer switch.

Form: 9/295-6

James Park Woods^h1¹³

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: Mr Ben Ffrench Davis⁽⁷⁾| T: D J S Ffrench Davis

12/1

Fair at up to 1¼m on the Flat, albeit winner of just 1 of 24 starts in that sphere. Beaten 22 lengths into fourth by Percy's Word on Stratford hurdle debut so work on to turn tables. Hood added.

Form: 4

Kanukankan³¹⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: T J O'Brien| T: P Hobbs & J White

11/4

Didn't appear particularly well fancied at 18/1 but in process of making promising debut when unseating 2 out at Exeter last October. Off since lesser run at Newton Abbot but retains potential.

Percy's Word (8/13), Kanukankan (11/4), Any Givin Sunday (9/1), James Park Woods (12/1), Highland Parc (20/1), Croagh Patrick (100/1), Denable (125/1)

PERCY'S WORD has really got his act together over hurdles lately and could be up to giving the weight away. Kanukankan showed plenty of promise on the first of his 2 starts last autumn and it'll be interesting to see how strong he is in the market on his return for a yard going great guns. Irish bumper winner Any Givin Sunday could also have a part to play now hurdling for a new stable.
