Came good with cheekpieces added when seeing off 13 rivals at Beverley (7.4f, good to firm) and backed that up with decent efforts in nurseries at Sandown/Doncaster. Significantly up in trip.

Showed improved form to get off the mark at this course (8.3f, good to soft, 13/8) 57 days ago, suited by increase in trip. Up in distance again on handicap debut so may well do even better.

Forecasts

Typewriter (2/1), New Pursuit (16/5), Sharvara (9/2), Implore (5/1), Sanitiser (5/1), Gorak (5/1)

Verdict

All of these look progressive but NEW PURSUIT was unlucky not to go close on his nursery bow at Windsor having been denied a clear run so is likely on a good mark. Gorak has improved a chunk with each run and his opening mark looks an attractive one, so he rates the main threat ahead of Typewriter, who should improve again for the longer trip.

  1. NEW PURSUIT (IRE)
  2. GORAK (FR)
  3. TYPEWRITER (IRE)
